The institution of the actuarial profession
The Public Association «Kazakhstan Chamber of Actuaries» is an independent professional organisation of actuaries in Kazakhstan that performs the functions of professional self-regulation.
LEGAL STATUS
The KCA is a non-commercial, membership-based organisation in the form of a public association. The Chamber acquired the rights of a legal entity upon state registration and draws on the international practice of leading actuarial organisations (SOA, CAS, IFoA, IAA).
AREAS OF ACTIVITY
- Development and revision of professional standards and rules of actuarial practice;
- Organisation of examinations, qualification, certification and maintenance of registries;
- Code of Professional Ethics, oversight of compliance with standards and discipline;
- Education and continuing professional development (CPD);
- Scientific, research and expert activities, including independent assessment of reserves;
- Protection of professional interests and participation in improving legislation.

Independence from commercial interests
The KCA is not an employer or a labour market; participation in the Chamber's projects is voluntary.

Ownership of standards
The Chamber owns the professional standards and the actuarial qualification system in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Financial independence
External funding grants sponsors no control over professional and examination decisions.

Equal access and voluntariness
All persons who meet the qualification requirements have equal rights to participate.

The Chamber's professional model builds on the practice of the world's leading actuarial associations: ASOP standards, the SOA and IFoA qualification models, and IAA principles. Dialogue with the international community is part of the Chamber's strategy.
